Preference to NC State University undergraduate students who are pursuing membership in the Beta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi.Īlpha Sigma Phi has been and will continue to be an important piece of Brent and Lindzey’s lives. This scholarship fund will allow the Beta Zeta Chapter to honor Ben’s memory and legacy by awarding a scholarship(s) to an undergraduate student from each new member class. As a member of the Beta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi, he was affectionately known as “The Captain”, because of his commitment to building better men as the Vice President of Member Retention. While attending North Carolina State University, Ben pursued a major in Microbiology and became passionate about research. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018. Ben was a nationally ranked wrestler in middle school and at the state level in high school. Ben DeRose Better the Student Scholarshipīrother Ben DeRose, NC State ’18, Omega ’21, was well known for his athletic and leadership ability.
